This small shallow sweep adze is forged from solid 4140 alloy steel. It has a hand crafted hickory handle, stained and finished with a penetrating oil/varnish mix. Handles are approximately 10" long. The shallow sweep blade has a slight curve for ease of use and sharpening. This adze is designed superior control for finishing both the inside and outside of bowls, and carving shallow forms like trays and chair seats. Blades are approximately 2-1/2”" across. Overall weight varies between 24 - 27 oz. No sheath is available for this adze.
