Our socketed framing chisel is forged from 1045 medium carbon steel with a 5160 spring steel cutting edge forge-welded in place. The hand turned locust handle has a steel ferrule to prevent the handle from splitting. The tapered socket is tipped to be out of the way when paring the cheeks of large tenons. Overall length is 13”-15”. Each chisel comes with a wet-molded leather blade cover.
